Thomas S. “Tiger Tom” Baldwin Sr. was born March 14, 1947, in East Patchogue, New York.

Baldwin became part of the fabric of northeastern Modified racing. His NASCAR Modified Tour record included 373 starts, six victories, seven poles and a best championship finish of third in 1992.

At Riverhead Raceway, his eleven victories stretched from 1978 through 1992. The fans recognized the same qualities his crew saw every week, voting him the Tour's Most Popular Driver in 2003.

Tom was more than the driver of the 7NY. He was a father, grandfather, friend and mentor whose personality was as memorable as the race car. He died following an accident at Thompson International Speedway on August 19, 2004, but the number and the family tradition continue.
